In the above webinar Principal Investigator Ashok Gadgil and cookstove team researchers Jennifer Jones and Kathleen Lask discuss efficient stoves for Haiti.
Members of the Cookstoves team work on site throughout the world to field test cookstoves. Supported by a variety of funding methods, the team fans out to Africa, Haiti, Mongolia and beyond to design the very best and efficient cookstoves for the culture and people of the region.
For example, Graduate Student Jennifer Jones is working to incorporate computer generated stove modeling into stove design testing. Most stove literature to date has focused on experimental testing on stoves to learn about stove performance to obtain necessary data. The Cookstoves team is excited to launch this new component and hopes to build a computational stove model that guides stove design and can be used to determine tradeoffs between increased stove efficiency and reduced emissions.
